Load Tracking

What started as simply a 'side' job for Garry Killpack nearly three decades ago has evolved into big business as one of Idaho's largest transporters of what the state is most famous for - potatoes.

In 1979, Garry Killpack was Controller at a major potato processing plant in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He recognized the need for more efficient transport of the product from local farms to the processing plants, took a chance, purchased six 10-wheelers with pup trailers and started Killpack Trucking.

"I was 16 years old at the time, and remember spending many hours in those first trucks," said Blaine Killpack, Garry's son and Vice President - Operations. Then in 1988 Garry decided to try several over the road trucks. In the years that followed, more were added. Today the company owns 48 tractors and 66 refrigerated and van trailers. "While Dad has retired, it's still very much a family operation," said Killpack, "My twin brother, Blair, is Controller and our brother Todd, heads Dispatch."

Going from six to 48 trucks has presented its challenges, but Killpack Trucking, Inc. has flourished into a reliable, growing company, transporting loads all over the United States.
